Hit the Deck!

Get your hands on The Overspray HitTheDeck cards while you still can!

The decks consist of 54 street art pieces each done by a different artist. The artists featured include: The London Police, D*face, Lister, Bast, Elph, Infinity Man, and many, many more.

We only printed 1,000 decks, so they were extremely limited to begin with and they are going fast-- apparently kids in London are pining for limited edition street art cards. We got a few hundred decks left so get on that ish.

Each box is hand stamped, numbered and done up in a special Overspray packaging by a pretty lady. The cards are casino quality and fully playable. The decks are $13 plus shipping and handling, which is $7 in the US, $10 everywhere else. These cards are being sold exclusively online and can only be found on the Overspray website- www.Overspraymag.com

Issue 06

Our issue dedicated to Californian street art is finished and will be dropping in stores soon!

It's stacked with features on the giants of the left coast scene, including Shepard Fairey, Dave Choe, Above, Kofie One and Empte Eyes. We also sat down with the makers of the film Quality of Life, checked out the fantastic Swoon/ Faile/ David Ellis show, and went all out for our latest & greatest edition of Threads. We even got back in time to curate an Overspray wall for Wooster on Spring Street.

Go grab Issue 06 at your local book store, art store or on our website, www.overspraymag.com.
Here's a sneak peak of what went down during our travels:

Quality of Life

Time for some random but definitely warranted promotion--

Benjamin Morgan's Quality of Life is undoubtedly a classic graffiti movie. If you haven't done it already, check it out.

Pick Up the Pieces Puerto Rico

Here are a couple shots from the Puerto Rican Pick Up the Pieces segment. It was a small show due to many many complications, but peoples' response to it was incredible. They loved it. A few things sold, we got on TV again, and I got a sunburn. Badabing!

News - March 05

So here's the latest news:
We're taking the Pick Up the Pieces show that we had here in NYC in September, to San Juan, Puerto Rico between April 4th and 6th. There's an open call for art out there, but we need everything by Friday...so....it's tight.
Otherwise, we're doing a fashion shoot for the Threads section of issue 5 (our premier full size issue) on Sunday. Its looking amazing so far. Articles and images are coming in for that too and everything's looking stellar.

The street art deck of cards is almost complete. We're just waiting on the last 2 or 3 and a few updated ones, then we're good to go! You'll all be kept posted as soon as they're done, never fear.

It looks like we'll be taking the Pick up the pieces show to LA in May as well. Email us at ospickupthepieces@yahoo.com if you'd like to be a part.

Hmm...what else..we've got so many new ideas for subscriber bonuses with the new format, like tee give aways every issue, etc.

Our website is in the works but there's no definitive date when it'll go up. Sorry about that. Its rough getting shit done for free.

Otherwise, you know how to find us (overspraymag@yahoo.com). Hit us up with any questions, thoughts, requests or comments and we'll jew it to it.

peace la

A benefit

Many of you know Dusty Derouen, the owner of TERRA.

Dusty is from Louisiana, and 72 hours ago decided to put together a GIANT fundraiser for hurricane relief.

In three days, he put everything together and the event looks to be pretty special.

full details via http://www.folktofolksf.com/. they are expecting 10k people, and I agreed to help him procure ART that will be sold at the event. 100% of proceeds go directly to the American Red Cross. EVERYONE working on this is donating their time + talents, and Dusty managed to sign up loads of corporate sponsors.

Now he just needs some great art!

If you are interested, kindly sign up via http://www.folktofolksf.com/volunteer.html - change the subject line to read ART DONATION if you are able to donate a single piece and someone from Dusty's team will contact you with logistical information.

all donating artists get a free ticket to the event.

There are a host of volunteer opportunities at the event as well, so feel free to forward to this whomever you think might be interested.

I realize that time is tight, but anything that you are able to do is much appreciated.

THANK YOUI!

Damn.

It's been a helluva while since I've had the chance to put something new on here. We've been going non-stop for at least two weeks now. The ELC is tearing it up. With a set for a photo shoot, some roooftop bombing, a huge canvas in a skateshop in Connecticut, an event on Thursday, my huge blowout birthday bash last night (no voice now) and an event tonight it's been a real busy week or two.
Here are some of the fruits of that labor.
Again, the ELC is Inifinity, Royce Bannon, Anera, Splat, Gore-b, Flaca, Abe Lincoln Jr and Anon and it's out of NYC.

NYC street art/graf from two wheels

Graffiti Ride

Although the crackdown has had effects, New York City remains a vast
and vibrant open canvas for street art and graf. Coming up as a graf
writer on the streets of California we were in awe of the artists
here -- artists like Zypher, Kaws, Revs, and Samo. Some of the old
pieces can still be seen along with breathtaking new work from bold
young artists. The work spans this entire town, so the best way to
see it is on two wheels.

Bike tour starts at the Wall of Fame
106 Street and Park in the school yard, Manhattan
Noon; $free
