Wien #2

"The SUBOTRON SHOP is positioned at the cutting edge of electronics, gaming, music, and design and explores the historic and future development of computer, video, and telegames in a sociocultural context."

I've never actually been inside the store, just had the pleasure of gazing through the glass windows late-night as I passed it on my walk from the inner courtyard of the Museumsquartier to the bars of the 1st district. It sells all sorts of video games (both contemporary and vintage), textiles, literature, music, t-shirts, Mexican wrestling masks, organizes lectures, workshops, exhibitions, and concerts on gameculture, and boasts a permanent exhibition of handhelds and consoles from the Neufeld collection (look it up).

So that's all great, but why here? Because the owners were savvy enough to ask 8 heavy hitters to each paint a letter of SUBOTRON on their outside wall in a suitably techy typeface.

check it.
