Wien #3

While perusing the poster show at Inoperable I couldn't help but spend the rest of my hard earned xmas money on 4, yes 4, posters. It wasn't until I had made my final decision that I figured out 3 out of the 4, yes 3 out of 4, of them were made by the same crew: Atzgerei. Founded in 2005 by 5 metal loving graphic designer "johnnies", they've since produced hundreds of posters for artists, festivals, shows, concerts as well as a whole line of art prints that usually involve the drawings of more than one of them. They've set up camp in an abandoned factory site in Atzgersdorf, a suburb of Vienna, but when it's really cold (try screen printing in -10 degrees in a big unheated factory) they tend to do a lot of their design work from their apartment in Vienna. Not only do these guys do crazy screen print projects, they also have their way with everything from graphic design for magazines, clothing, and video, to interior and exterior building design and more.

These guys are awesome and hardcore and so is their work.

check it.

"The Camp" One of the posters I got - inspired by the Kafka story, its about a crazy machine that feeds you while its impaling you with spikes that are positioned to spell out your crime... told you they were hardcore.
